Frequently Asked Questions
What is BAC and how is it calculated?
BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) measures the percentage of alcohol in your bloodstream. Our BAC Calculator uses the Widmark formula, which estimates BAC based on drinks consumed, alcohol percentage, body weight, gender, and time elapsed. It's an estimate — actual BAC varies by individual.
Is the BAC calculator accurate?
The Widmark formula provides a reasonable estimate but cannot account for all variables — food intake, medication, individual metabolism, liver health, and other factors all affect real BAC. The only safe choice if you've consumed alcohol is not to drive, regardless of any calculator result.
